Relocating across country has numerous challenges and while my company did a great job helping out with minimizing the impact, the biggest challenge we had was finding a new home within 60 days of making the move. My company provided a realtor and a finance officer but right out the gate it was clear that neither were quite up to the task. Frankly, we were the problem. The Seattle area is such a different market than the Orlando area that we had no idea what we wanted. On top of that, we did not sell our home in Florida so our budget was constrained.
I had met Emily at my new employee orientation where my company introduces us to vendors who can be helpful in the transition. I can't say this strongly enough; Meeting Emily there may have been the single most important thing to happen during that orientation. I caught her at the very tail end of the event as they were packing up to leave. Even so, they stopped packing, even unpacked a bit, and began a great relationship.
They handled finding and showing homes. Emily crosses all the Ts and dots all the Is. duo is the perfect team to have on your team! They listened to our needs and queued up a list of homes to see the very next weekend. Theyl happily took us from home to home and adjusted the next day's showings based on the feedback of the previous. We even made him go out the following Monday and it was then that we found our new home. They then helped us with the lender, through my new credit union, and got us pre-approval by sheer will since all our documentation was in transit. We put in an offer based on their knowledge of the market and the property listing and worked through a few counter offers. For every bump in the road, they were there to smooth the way.
This is my third home purchase and fourth realty experience. I cannot recommend highly enough how wonderful an experience it is to work with duo and Emily. Do yourself a favor and make them part of your realty team!
